“Jewel of the Rockies”
Limited Edition of 195 | Artist Proof 25
Moraine Lake, the “Jewel of the Canadian Rockies”, is one of the most breath-taking scenic locations in the world. Once proudly displayed on the Canadian $20 bill, American writer and explorer, Walter Dwight Wilcox (1869-1949), who named the lake, thought it was formed by blockage from a glacial moraine. However, a more acceptable theory is that the lake was created by a large rock slide from the cliffs to the southeast.
