House on Fire Ruin, Cedar Mesa Plateau, Utah

“Ancient Flames”
Limited Edition of 195 | Artist Proof 25

This spectacular Puebloan ruin is located in Mule Canyon on the Cedar Mesa plateau in southeastern Utah. The plateau is home to one of the largest concentrations of Puebloan ruins in the four corners area. The Puebloans, also called the Anasazi (meaning “the Ancient Ones” in the Navajo language), lived until 1300 AD on the four hundred square mile (1,000 square km) Cedar Mesa plateau. The plateau is bounded by Arch Canyon on the north, Comb Wash on the east, Grand Gulch on the west, and the Valley of the Gods and the San Juan River on the south.
