Hawaiian White Hibiscus, "Hibiscus arnottianus"

“Koki’o ke’oke’o”
Limited Edition of 195 | Artist Proof 25

There are seven known species of hibiscus found on the Hawaiian Islands. The exotic Hawaiian White Hibiscus, also called Koki’o ke’oke’o, is endangered in its natural habitats. This member of the Malvaceae family ranges between 305 to 762 meters (1,000 to 2,500 feet) in elevation. However, the hybrid varieties thrive as a very popular ornamental at lower elevations in Hawaii and Southern California.
